Bay Newscasters
Chong was born in Seattle, Washington. Marcus Chong's biological father, Martin Wyatt, had been a local newscaster in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years. Chong was then adopted and raised by Canadian actor and comedian Tommy Chong and raised as a stepbrother to actress Rae Dawn Chong.
In the early 1990s he played lead character Miguel Mendez on the TV show Street Justice. He later appeared in the Vanishing Son action series as Fu Qua Johnson and has also played a biracial character of African American/Chinese descent in Season 3 of the TV series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit ("Inheritance").
Marcus Chong played Tank the Operator in The Matrix, and also starred as Huey P. Newton in the 1995 movie Panther.
Marcus recently completed his first novel entitled, "The Arch" (www.thearchnovel.com) based on his experience with The Matrix and one of his heroes, Alexandre Dumas.
